WILTON – Selectmen will meet behind closed doors Tuesday for the second time with members of the Wilton Development Corp. and the Greater Franklin Development Corp.

The board will continue discussions about an offer of property to the town. The executive session will be held at 6:30 p.m. with the regular Selectmen’s meeting beginning at 7 p.m. at the town office.

Phillips Van Heusen Corp. offered the Bass Distribution Center on Weld Road to the town. After an executive session with the two corporations at their last meeting, Selectmen directed Town Manager Peter Nielsen to draft a letter to the company concerning the offer.

Nielsen said the town would let the company know that they have enlisted the help of the two development corporations to see if they can make an arrangement that will create jobs in the community. They hope to have a candidate for ownership by April 30.

In other business, officials plan to review the 2004-05 proposed municipal budget. They will also set a date to meet with the town’s finance committee to go over the budget.

Officials will sign a Beano license for the American Legion Auxiliary and discuss a letter from SAD 9 Superintendent Mike Cormier.
