LIVERMORE FALLS – A former Livermore Falls police officer was expected to board a plane Monday for Iraq.
Officer Bruce Benson resigned his job of more than 20 years this month to train Iraqi people to be police officers.
Benson passed all of the tests and called the Livermore Falls officers to say goodbye this weekend.
He’s expected to spend at least a year in Iraq working at a police academy in Baghdad.
