NORWAY – Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to join the Norway Memorial Library passenger train starting at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19, and ending at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 20. Conductors will direct passengers in a scavenger hunt that will reveal the destination. Snacks and breakfast will be served in the dining cart. Preregistration is a must and all children may be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited to 15 children. For information, call Amy at 743-5308.

Church conference

PARIS – The South Paris Baptist Church will hold an Upward and Outward Conference March 19 to 21. There will be services at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Joseph Burress, pastor of the Victory Baptist Church in Rochester, N.Y.

The church is located at 1 Park St. All are welcome to attend these services as well as regular services. The church has Sunday School for all ages, Sunday morning and evening worship services, an AWANA program, a Word of Life Youth Program, small group Bible studies, and men’s and women’s ministries.

Snowmobilers

PARIS – The Snow Hoppers Snowmobile Club of South Paris will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, March 23 at the CN Brown Conference Room in South Paris. A potluck supper starts at 6:30 with a meeting to follow. Aleta Rioux, Maine Snowmobile Association exexcutive vice president, will be a guest. She will talk about her WOW trip and snowmobile issues. NORWAY – The March 21st message at the Norway Unitarian Universalist Church at 479 Main St. will be “Welcoming Spring and Honoring Women Religious Leaders in this Woman’s History Month.” Worship services begin at 11 a.m., led by the Rev. Joy Gasta, with Music Director Heather Pierson and the choir. Religious education starts at 11:15 a.m. Children attend the first part of the service with their parents. A coffee social immediately follows the service. All are welcome.

Blood drive

Training sessions

PARIS – Finders/Seekers, a child-care resource development center, has announced two training sessions scheduled for this area. Preschool development and curriculum for family child care will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 24 to May 22. There is no charge. Foundations of center-based care will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 3 and 10. The fee is $10. Courses will take place at Community Concepts Inc., Market Square, South Paris.
