Dance and auction

RUMFORD – Mountain Valley Boosters are hosting a Blue and Silver Dance and Auction Saturday, March 20, at the Eagles Hall, 13 Oxford Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the dance and auction starting at 8. Admission is $8 per person or $15 per couple. Tickets are on sale at Port to Port, the River Valley Chamber of Commerce, Franklin Savings Bank, Kaynor and Kreckel and All That Jazz and will be on sale at the door.

There will be more than 40 items featured in a Chinese auction and a live auction conducted by Mark Prevost. Items donated by area merchants and individuals include ski, trail and swim passes, gift certificates for lodging and dining, auto-detailing worth $129, tanning session, handcrafted Falcons clock by Laurie Brown, tourmaline jewelry worth over $1,000 from Carol and Dale Sweatt, a queen size comforter and a brass lamp from Stanley’s Furniture, amethyst earrings, a hair care gift package worth over $65, a savings bond from Franklin Savings Bank and a framed picture with a mint Maine quarter worth $65.

Entertainment will be supplied by Celebration. Proceeds will benefit Mountain Valley High School athletic programs.

Dance class

RUMFORD – The Ladies in Line dancers will meet from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays

from March 24 to April 28 at the Rumford United Methodist Church so that those who wish may attend Louise Stickney’s moving freely exercise class.
