PARIS – The Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School’s Rocketry Club is presenting a “Laugh Till You’re Green” comedy night from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 19, in the forum at the high school.

Artex, a local group consisting of Jake Haslett, Jenn Dowling, Josh Parsons and Shawn Bonneau, will open the evening and then Mike Miclon will take center stage for the remainder of the show.

A Buckfield resident, Miclon is executive director of the OddFellow Theater and a member of the Odd Company, a traveling comedy and juggling troupe.

Miclon has brought his high-energy antics to theaters and special events around the world. These include the Kennedy Center and the White House in Washington, the Fiesta Americana in Naples, Italy, and the Victoria Jungfrau Hotel in Interlaken, Switzerland.

The Rocketry Club members are raising funds for their “Week in Space” trip in May when they will travel to the Kennedy Space Center and witness a launch of a Delta II rocket. The club also needs assistance obtaining building supplies for a two-stage rocket so they can compete in the Team America Rocketry Challenge 2004. Their rocket must be of their own design and go 1,250 feet in the air with a payload of two eggs before returning safely to the ground. The Team America Rocketry Challenge is a national competition co-sponsored by the Aerospace Industries Association and the National Association for Rocketry. All donations will be gladly accepted, according to the club.

Tickets for the March 19th show are $10 apiece. They can be purchased from any of the club members (Winter Lewis, Ken Lamb, Cassi Harney, Dylan Shimamura, Sean Jordan, Samantha Pulkkinen and Colin Mansfield). Tickets will also be on sale during lunches at the high school, in the Hillside Café after school and in the office (see Joyce Palmer). Books-N-Things also will have tickets for sale through the 19th.
