Teams will ride in style as they solve clues in a new fund-raiser for The Public Theatre.

the concept of a treasure hunt intrigues you, or if you’ve always wanted to ride in a limousine on an occasion other than a wedding or prom, then The Public Theatre’s Treasure Trek is for you.

The theater has rented eight stretch limousines, two of which are 14-passenger stretch SUVs, for April 4.

Supporters of The Public Theatre will ride in style as they solve clues for this Treasure Trek fund-raiser.

The event will start at the theater, at Lisbon and Maple streets in Lewiston, with all eight limousines parked in the lot.

Starter clues will be given to each of the eight teams; and the race, a mental and strategical rather than a car race, will be on. The limousine drivers will see to that, organizers said.

The first team to return to The Public Theatre with all the clues solved will win the treasure.

The identity of the treasure hasn’t yet been revealed, but event organizers believe that the major reward for all the teams will be the fun of participation.

Previous installments of Treasure Trek, run on a private basis, have earned rave reviews.

Similar fund-raisers in other cities have commanded prices of hundred of dollars per seat.

The price of a seat for The Public Theatre’s first Treasure Trek will be $50. This will also entitle trekkers to admission to a post-trek reception with music by the Tinpanic Steel Band and refreshments.
