LEWISTON – The National Association of Retired Federal Employees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at the Ramada Inn.

The guest speaker will be Sheryl Whitmore, curator of the Poland Spring Preservation Society. She has served as curator for the last six years and has been preserving and cataloguing historical items collected by the society. She also gives talks and conducts tours of the Poland Spring Museum.

She was reference technician for the Lewiston Public Library for 10 years, where indexing Libby Mill papers was one of her responsibilities. Whitmore was head librarian for the town of Lisbon for five years. She is former chairwoman for Maine Library Association Membership Committee.

She served on Lisbon redevelopment board and as total quality management representative for Lewiston Library to City Organizations. She is interested in basketmaking, quilting, cooking, music and watercolors.

Plans for the meeting were made at a recent board meeting at the home of Vi Dumais. Attending were President Sue Stetson, Mike Bohunicky and Florence Bohunicky, Doris Hamel, Roland Bellefleur and Jayne Bickford.

Sue Stetson will preside at the meeting and lunch will be served at noon.
