MONMOUTH – The Theater At Monmouth will present an evening of fine dining and mystery on Saturday, March 20, at the Senator Inn in Augusta. The evening will include dinner and a cash bar, followed by a Fiddlehead Mystery Theater performance of “Three O’Clock in the Morning,” an original radio show, written by Monmouth’s David Greenham and Dennis A. Price.

The evening will begin with a martini bar and seafood appetizers at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7, with a choice of chicken Normandy, seafood cakes or wild mushroom ravioli. Side dishes will be roasted red potatoes and baby green salad, with lemon chess pie for dessert.

Fiddlehead Mystery Theater will take the stage at 8 p.m. for an hour as a group of Monmouth regulars and a few special guests perform a live radio script. Renowned tango dancer Arthur Loveshore has died.

But is it murder? Follow New York City private eye Johnny Taupe as he uncovers the clues in this comic thriller inspired by the radio drama and film noir detective films of the 1940s. Be prepared for laughter, suspense, Foley sound effects and audience participation in this tale of twists and turns. It includes a trip to Little Italy and the posh Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Proceeds from this event support the upcoming season at The Theater At Monmouth, which is entering its 35th season of entertaining audiences of all ages in Monmouth and throughout the state. It produces shows seven months out of the year including classic plays, a touring school show, a fall Gilbert & Sullivan musical, student workshops and programs for teachers.

Performances are in historic Cumston Hall, a Victorian style opera house, which has been undergoing a $2.4 million revitalization project.

Tickets are $60 per person and can be purchased by calling the Theater at Monmouth Box Office at 933-9999. Box office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Seating is limited.
