LIVERMORE FALLS – Members of the Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens were told March 15 of the cutbacks being made by SeniorsPlus in an effort to balance the budget.

The meals center will be closed on Fridays until July and there will be no Meals on Wheels deliveries that day.

The club voted to donate $100 to help the organization and, when a meal is delivered on the fourth Monday of the month, the dues for that day will be donated also.

A card was received from Therese Chaddon who said she would enjoy hearing from local folks.

Chairman Shirley Couture led the business meeting and Mary Groleau led the group in singing “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling.” The 50/50 was won by Lois Gordon and a plate donated by Ellie Mitchell was won by Athanase Couture.
