PARIS – Two Rumford men were indicted by the Oxford County grand jury Thursday on charges of assaulting a Paris man with a cribbage board.

According to the indictment, on or about Feb. 27, Scott M. Decker, 21, of 54 Hartford St., seriously injured Heath W. Edwards. Alvah Burton Pike IV, 23, of 13 Falmouth St. was also indicted for allegedly participating in the attack. Further details of the case were not available Tuesday.

Decker is charged with elevated aggravated assault and is to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris. Pike is charged with aggravated assault and is to be arraigned Wednesday, April 6.

On March 17, the district attorney’s cases against Pike and Scott were joined, allowing both men to be tried together.
