WATERFORD – There will be a Seder, the Passover meal commemorating the freeing of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at the Wilkins Community House on Plummer Hill Road. People of all faiths are invited to share in this family tradition of special foods, rituals and song.
Fifty tickets are available, and reservations may be made by calling Karen Wright at 583-6526.
There is a charge of $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12, with a maximum family charge of $12.50.
The meal will consist of chicken, green beans, potato kugel, and sponge cake with strawberries and a topping. It will be augmented with traditional Seder elements and rituals.
Sponsored by the Waterford Congregational Church, it is an opportunity to learn about and share in the ancient tradition during Holy Week.
Following the Seder, there will be a Maundy Thursday worship service at 7:30 p.m. in the Waterford Congregational Church sanctuary next to the Wilkins Community House. The choir will sing at this service.
