AUBURN – Central Maine Community College will celebrate Women’s History Month by presenting Dr. Manisha Roy of the C.G. Jung Institute in Boston, who will lecture on “The Women of India: A Clash of Cultures – Tradition versus Modernity” at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, in the Jalbert Lecture Hall. Admission is free; the public is invited.

Roy was born in India and has a doctorate in psychological anthropology. She also has advanced degrees in analytical psychology, social anthropology and geography.

She has taught in several countries and has led workshops and seminars around the world focusing on consciousness, myth, Eastern philosophy and women’s issues. Roy has published numerous articles and books, including “Bengali Women” and “The Reckoning Heart.”

Roy’s presentation will consider how traditional roles and views on class, race, gender and sexuality have clashed with western values and a high-speed world.
