FARMINGTON – Evelyn D. Miller, 94, of Farmington, formerly of Wilton, died Saturday, Mar. 27, at the Pierce House in Farmington.
She was born June 8, 1909, in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of Evelyn Garnet and Sarah Jane (Bent) Legere. She attended Wilton Academy and and later the Chapman School of Beauty Culture.
On June 14, 1929, she married Walter R. Miller.
Mrs. Miller worked as a beautician in Wilton and later at Williams Five and Dime store on the Main St. of Wilton. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wilton and volunteered at the Pierce House in Farmington.
She enjoyed travelling throughout the world, including Florida and trips to Spain during the winter, knitting, writing letters to family and friends and people in general.
She is survived by: a brother, Paul W. Legere of Fla.; a niece, Ann Denise Brown and her husband, Randy, of New Jersey, and many other nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; a brother, G. Woodrow Legere, and two sisters, Cora E. McKenney and Phyllis Austen.
