1922 – 2004

FARMINGTON – Jane B. Sinskie, 82, of Farmington, died early Sunday evening, March 28, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born in Farmington, Jan. 31, 1922, a daughter of Walter Davis and Lela (Shirley) Barker. She attended Farmington schools and went on to the University of Maine at Orono.

In October of 1941, she married, Charles T. Sinskie Jr. in Farmington. Mrs. Sinskie was a loving homemaker to her husband and children.

She was a former volunteer at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington as well as the Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Fla., as she and her husband wintered in Palm Harbor, Fla. She loved her time in Florida, and enjoyed very much helping her husband with the charter boat business they ran there.

She also enjoyed knitting, especially Christmas stockings for her children and grandchildren and her work with, Nancy Lord, as a dance instructor of ballet and tap in Farmington.

Mrs. Sinskie attended St. Joseph’s church in Farmington while in Maine, and St. Ignasius church in Florida, during the winter.

She is survived by four daughters, Jan Sinskie of Salem, Mass., Anne Credicott and her husband Bill of Abilene, Texas, Leigh Croteau and her husband Dennis of Farmington and Suzette Kendall and her husband John of Farmington; a sister, Nancy York and her husband Richard of Farmington; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband in July of 1984; a son, Roger D. Sinskie in January of 1997; and a sister, Mary Ladd.
