1920 – 2004

LEWISTON – Mary Alice Turcotte, 83, died peacefully Thursday evening, March 25, following a short illness. She lived a long and happy life right up until her passing, where she was surrounded by loving family and friends.

She was born Nov. 8, 1920, in Lewiston, the daughter of James and Alice (Burpee) Swindells. She attended Lewiston schools.

She was a retired employee of Leblanc’s Cleaners, where she had worked for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Anne Sodality, the Robin Dow Senior Citizens and volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Her greatest pride was spending time with family. She always loved hearing what was going on in their lives. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, pot holders and other various items for family and friends for many years. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include sons, Michael and John Turcotte; brother, John and Joanne Swindells; sister, Dorothy and Douglas Kay; grandson, Scott Turcotte; and granddaughter, Jennifer Drumm.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; her brother, James; and grandson, Douglas Turcotte.
