The small town of Biggar, Saskatchewan, Canada has claimed for years that “New York is big, but this is Biggar!”
Signs on various local establishments echo this saying as their claim to fame, but this farming community, west of Saskatoon, had never really enjoyed a true moment in the spotlight.
That all changed on the morning of November 23, 1993, when Milo Hanson, a local farmer and avid hunter, bagged what is now known in hunting circles around the world as “The Hanson Buck.”
The buck was not only huge but amazingly rack-balanced from side to side. This deer would become the standard to which all other typical trophy whitetail racks are compared.
Almost 11 years later, the Hanson Buck remains the #1 World Record Typical Whitetail ever harvested. The official Boone and Crockett score was an amazing 213-5/8, easily surpassing the previous world record “Jordan Buck” at 206-1/8.
You won’t want to miss the opportunity to view this #1 world record specimen – never before seen in Maine – at this weekend’s show.
After all, how many times do you get a chance to experience anything that is truly the best in the world?
The Hanson Buck display is sponsored by Budweiser/Federal Distributors of Lewiston.
