1920 – 2004

LEWISTON – Beatrice Yvonne Marcotte Berube, 84, died Monday, April 5, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Rollinsford, N.H., on Jan. 28, 1920, she moved to Lewiston as a young woman. She started out working in the city’s mills, but soon became employed by Knapp Shoes, where she worked for 32 years. She retired at the age of 70.

On June 30, 1945, she married Eudore Berube, and the couple raised three children together.

She is survived by her husband, Eudore Berube; her brother, Hubert Marcotte of Lewiston; three children, Ray Reynolds and his wife Linda of Westbrook, Jeanette Beavers and her husband Ronald of Newton, Ill., and Grace Morrill and her husband Ronald of Poland Spring; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her three sisters, Anita Marcotte and Grace Strout of Lewiston, and Florence Battista of Connecticut; and two grandchildren, Chester Morrill and William Reynolds.
