1919 – 2004
NORWAY – Eleanor A. Boyce, 85, of Norway died Sunday, April 4, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.
She was born in South Paris on Jan. 2, 1919, the daughter of Elmer and Minola Buck Aldrich. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Norway High School and attended Pelletier School of Beauty.
She was the owner/operator of Cozy Corner Beauty Shop. She was also employed at J.J. Newberry’s lunch counter, the Guy E. Rowe school lunch program, Sno-Craft and at Oxford Pine Products.
She was a member of the Norway Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary and the Pythian Sisters. She was a leader for Brownie’s, Girl Scout’s and Cub Scout’s. She was known as the taxi driver for the neighborhood, taking kids where they needed to go. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed traveling with her sister and cousin.
She is survived by her six children, Patricia Perry of North Waterford, Anita Higgins of Kennebunkport, Mary Everett of Norway, Georgina Jacobson of Norway, Karen Edwards of West Paris and James of Norway; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ismay Lister of Springvale.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Karla Jacobson; and three brothers, Homer Aldrich, Kenneth Aldrich and Rupert Aldrich.
