1924 – 2004

PORTLAND – Jacqueline Forgues, 79, of 25 Knight St., Westbrook died Monday, April 5, at the Barron Center where she had resided the past three 1/2 years.

She was born in Lewiston, Dec. 22, 1924, the daughter of Donat and Adrienne Boutin Tardiff. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married to Raoul J. Forgues in 1946. Prior to her retirement she was employed for 28 years at the Pepperill Mill in Lewiston. She and her husband lived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for 20 years and prior to that lived in Lewiston on Scribner Boulevard.

While a resident of Lewiston she was a member of Holy Cross Parish and enjoyed dancing, reading, bowling, walking and spending time with her family and friends. As remembered by her son, Ronald, “Mom was a gentle person and was always ready to enjoy a good laugh.”

She is survived by her husband of Westbrook; a son, Ronald Forgues and his wife Jeannie of Bar Mills; a daughter, Nancy Ashton of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Danielle Forgues of Bar Mills, Karl Thornton, Lori

Poulin and Monica Ashton all of Wisconsin; a great-grandson, Joshua Poulin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene St. Pierre and Theresa Pagnotta.
