DURHAM – Two vehicles were totaled in a head-on collision on Route 125 Monday afternoon when one of the drivers apparently fell asleep, according to Androscoggin County Deputy Sheriff Michael Shostak.
Shostack identified the driver as 45-year-old Danny Cooper of Lisbon Falls. He said Cooper was driving in a northerly direction when he fell asleep. His 1990 Chevrolet drifted across the highway into the opposite lane striking an oncoming 1999 Saturn driven by Kathryn Kolb, 60, of 77 Autumn Lane, Yarmouth.
Kolb complained of pain and bruising, and was treated at the scene by Durham Fire and Rescue personnel.
The incident remains under investigation, Shostak said.
