RUMFORD – “The A-B-C’s of Baseball,” a basic course for males and females over 50 who want to learn more about the art of catching, fielding, throwing and hitting a baseball/softball will be taught by Bitsy Ionta.

The reasoning behind baseball/softball rules and strategies will also be discussed. More time will be spent in the gym than in the classroom because this will be a low key hands-on course meeting at the Greater Rumford Community Center from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, beginning April 13, for four weeks.

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing and bring a baseball glove if possible. Cost is $37.50 ($25 for course; $12.50 for half year membership in the senior college). To register, call Bitsy at 562-7523, Region 9 Learning Center at 364-2012 or Jane deFrees at 364-7535.
