NORWAY – The Heywood Club will meet on Monday, April 12, at the clubhouse on Crockett Ridge Road. Before the 7 p.m. meeting there will be a spring clean-up followed by pizza and beverages furnished by the club. Members are asked to meet at the clubhouse at 5 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter to start the clean-up. Bring cleaning supplies or tools for raking.
AARP meeting
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, at the VFW Hall, East Main Street, South Paris.
May Day bags will be filled and taken to the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and will be distributed to shut-ins by the Senior Companion Program.
In planning for the annual meeting and luncheon in May, reservations are required. The event will be held at noon Monday, May 10, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris. Cost is $7 a person and is payable in advance.
Members should plan to pay at the April meeting. For reservations contact Becky Armstrong at 744-0213. Deadline for reservations is May 5. Speaker will be Phyllis Cohn from the state AARP.
Bridge play
NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge met April 2 at the Fare Share Food Coop, 443 Main St.
Winners for the morning were Mike and Pat Quinn; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; third, Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.
Duplicate bridge is played at 9 a.m. every Friday, and all bridge players are welcome. A partner is guaranteed. Refreshments are served. Call Rowena Palmer at 743-2882, or Mimi Bell at 743-8081 for information.
