1919 – 2004

LEWISTON – Rolande Y. “Ducky” DeBlois, 84, of 59 Ste. Croix St., died Tuesday, April 6, at her home, after a lingering illness.

Born in Lewiston, Dec. 7, 1919, the daughter of Edward J. and Alderie M. Beaulieu, she was educated in Lewiston schools.

She later owned and operated Ross Variety Store for many years with her husband. She was married Feb. 6, 1943, to Rosaire C. “Ross” DeBlois and was a member of Holy Cross Parish and was a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne, Musical Literary Club, Webber Ave Club and Holy Cross Senior Citizens.

She attended St. Joseph’s School. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan. She always enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Foxwoods and scratching lottery tickets.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Poulin and fiancé, Ted Lindsey of Harpswell and Linda Charpentier and husband, Roger of Lewiston; two sons, Ronald DeBlois and wife, Madeleine of Lewiston and Glenn DeBlois and companion, Rachel Roy of Greene; grandchildren, Pam Kratzer and husband, David, Marc DeBlois and wife, Michelle, Kim Benjamin and husband, Ray, Craig Charpentier and Brittany and Colby DeBlois; and great-grandchildren, Morgan and Kyle Benjamin, Kaitlyn and Hannah DeBlois and Amelia and Ryan Kratzer.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Noella Pelletier and Muriel Domingue; and a brother, Edward Beaulieu.
