FARMINGTON – Janice S. Brackett, 66, a resident of Vine Street, Livermore Falls, died Wednesday, April 7, at Franklin Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for five days. She had been a resident of the Rumford Community Home for the past 10 months.

She was born on May 8, 1937, in Rumford, the daughter of Kenneth Leroy and Inaze May Murphy Stinchfield. She was educated in the Buckfield school system.

On April 12, 1958, she married Russell K. Brackett. He passed away on Sept. 17, 2003. She worked for a time at Livermore Shoe Co. and also as an office cleaner for several professional offices in the area.

She was a member of the Maine Rovers Camping Association. She always looked forward to spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing and was an avid camper.

She is survived by her mother of Canton; a son, Keith and his wife Elaine of Standish; a daughter, Wanda and her husband Wallace Fish II of Leeds; three sisters and their husbands, Sylvia and Jim Hutchins of South Rumford, Sandra and Everett Hutchins of South Rumford, Nancy and Billy Crooker of Livermore Falls; three brothers and their wives, Jerry and Melody Stinchfield of South Rumford, Terry Stinchfield of Brownfield and Timothy and Carol Stinchfield of Mexico; two grandchildren, Nicole Fish and Justin Brackett; two stepgrandchildren, Kristine Fish and Anthony Hight; several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her special friend, Becky Mercier of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by a sister, Norma Libby.
