African violets will be discussed at the April 13 meeting.
WILTON – Thirty eight people including members of Livermore Falls, Madison and Tyngtown Women’s Clubs and clergy attended the Wiltona Women’s Club meeting at the Wilton Congregational Church March 9.
Guest speaker Susan Conroy told of her work as a volunteer in Calcutta with Mother Teresa. She said her desire to help in this charity became evident to her in her junior year at Dartmouth College. Through grants and donations, her calling to serve in this mission was answered. Slides were shown of the poverty and health problems in the city. Orphaned children and dying patients are housed in different buildings. Conroy served and cared for both. Her book, “Lessons of Love and Sanctity,” tell of the life with Mother Teresa. The book was available for book signing after her presentation.
Refreshments were served by club members followed by a brief meeting. Names were submitted by the nominating committee for officers for next year.
The April 13th meeting will be held at the home of Helen Colburn at 2 p.m. where a silent auction will be held following a talk on African violets.
