MEXICO – Police arrested a Mexico man Friday on a felony sex charge after a 14-year-old girl and her mother filed a complaint last week at the police station station.

Jeremy N. Lauzier, 30, was charged with sexual abuse of a minor.

Chief James Theriault said Lauzier posted $2,000 unsecured bail on the charge but was not released due to a probation hold. Instead, he was transported to Oxford County Jail in Paris.

Lauzier was held at the jail until Wednesday when he was released on $100 cash bail following a hearing in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris.

He is to be arraigned on June 1 in 11th District Court in Rumford.

In other police news, Andrew Korhonen, 43, of Mexico, was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of domestic assault on his wife, Theriault said.

Korhonen, who failed to post $1,500 cash bail, was also arrested on a warrant for a theft charge. Bail on the warrant was $475 cash, which Korhonen also failed to post.

He was transported to Oxford County Jail where he remained as of Wednesday afternoon.

Korhonen is to be arraigned May 4 in 11th District Court in Rumford.
