RUMFORD – Selectmen will take up a slate of routine matters Thursday, ranging from awarding the contract for spring paving to acting on food vendor and liquor license permits.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Municipal Building.

At 6:30 p.m., selectmen will listen to requests for possible changes in the town’s bylaws. A second such hearing will be held next Thursday. Those accepted will appear on the annual town meeting warrant in June.

Town Manager Robert Welch said that during the regular board meeting, selectmen plan to discuss closing some streets during the four-day Moontide Water Festival in July. They will also award the contract for hot asphalt, act on a liquor license request for the Fortune Island restaurant and consider two requests by Mike Philbrick for hawkers and peddlers licenses for two food booths.

Other agenda items include action on a parade permit request for the annual March of Dimes Walk America fund-raising event set for April 25, and a report from Welch on efforts to acquire picnic tables for the information center on Bridge Street.
