GREENWOOD – Ricky Frank Erskine, 49, of Greenwood and Brookville, Fla., died peacefully in his sleep at the home of his brother in Greenwood on Tuesday, April 13.

He was born in Portland on July 25, 1954, a son of Clayton and Marion Erskine. Mr. Erskine attended schools in Portland and Naples, graduating from Lake Region High School.

After high school he lived several years in Utah, before moving to Florida. In Florida, he built homes and operated a lawn maintenance business along with his brother. He also worked with his father doing small construction jobs. He also worked for the Bruko Co. in Florida, assembling pool and screen enclosures.

Most recently he had been traveling back and forth between Florida, and Maine, doing remodeling and renovation jobs in Maine, and trying to finish his home in Florida. He enjoyed gardening, boating, fresh and salt water fishing, cabinet making and finish carpentry.

Surviving are three daughters, Cari Marie Grasso and Crystal Dawn Erskine both of Spring Hill, Fla., Elana Nicole Erskine of Breesport, N.Y.; two sons, Chris Erskine of Breesport, N.Y., Justin Matthew Arias of Brooksville, Fla.; his mother of Naples; three brothers, Robert of Windham, Gregory of Greenwood, Randall of Stratton; his granddaughter, Carissa Marie Grasso of Spring Hill, Fla.; his grandson, Kyle Martin Grasso of Spring Hill, Fla.; his ex-wife and friend, Donna Zarcone of Spring Hill, Fla.; his significant other, Charlotte Dawn Arias of Brooksville, Fla.

His daughter, Cari writes, “I will always remember eating Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with you.” “Looking out the window seeing you working in the yard and the grandchildren and I would hurry and put our shoes on so that we could go out and help you.”
