Ever notice that another courtesy or etiquette once upon a time taught at home or school is slipping away? Your attention, please. Telephone conversation.

I heard your radio advertisement for the Sun Journal depicting a woman calling a school from a cell phone. She is being delayed at a construction site while en route to pick up her child.

Nice of her to notify the school she will be late, however, in my opinion, she rudely hangs up on the person she’s calling before he can reply. No thank you. No goodbye. Just click. What if the child cannot be at the regular pickup point?

It seems many of our young people’s attention span and etiquette are almost nil when on the phone. Hullo? Yep. Nope. I dunno. Click.
