LISBON – Jon Charette smacked a triple and recorded two RBIs as Lisbon rolled past Monmouth to post a 6-0 victory in MVC baseball action Monday afternoon.

Jarrod Church and Tim Sautter each hit a double and had one RBI for the Greyhounds (1-0). Jon Tefft was in complete control on the mound, tossing a three-hitter and striking out seven batters.

Brian Gardner, Sean Holbrook, and Nate Armstrong combined for nine strikeouts for the Mustang (0-1).
Oak Hill 16, Belfast 0
BELFAST – Rick Leavitt blanked Belfast on one infield hit and struck out seven to power Oak Hill to a 16-0 thrashing over the Lions.

In the first inning alone, the Raiders (1-0) recorded seven runs to help lead them to their season-opening win. Timely hits were the Raiders key to victory. Everyone who reached base, scored in the first inning. Patrick Duchette ripped a three-run homer in the third inning to blow the contest wide open.

Belfast (0-1) pitcher Nick Arthers had a rough day on the mound, showing little command of the strike zone, and walking four Raiders in the first inning.

Paul Hermon had the lone hit for Belfast.
Brunswick 6, Edward Little 1
AUBURN – Brunswick reliever Josh Zubra came in during the fourth inning to stop threat, ending Edward Little’s last gasp in a 6-1 victory Monday.

Josh Clark was the only repeat hitter in the game. Brunswick (2-1) had a lucky break in the seventh inning, recording four runs off a walk, a hit batter, a passed ball, and a steal of home.

Edward Little (1-1) was paced by Justin Ciszewski who hit the lone extra base hit with a double.
Oxford Hills 3, Leavitt 0
SOUTH PARIS – Corey Tielinen threw a two-hit shutout, striking out nine and walking only one batter, as Oxford Hills recorded a 3-0 win over Leavitt Monday.

Tielinen hit a single in the sixth inning, followed by pinch hitter Rob McVety who smacked a triple, bringing home Tielinen and scoring the insurance run for the Vikings (4-0). Kalvin DeCato was the only repeat hitter of the game, hit a triple, and scored the first run of the game.

Dustin Gilbert had a double for the Hornets (0-3).
