Julie Lizotte fans 11 as Oak Hill opens with a 3-2 victory over Belfast.
BELFAST – Julie Lizotte was solid on the mound, striking out 11 batters and walking none to help Oak Hill notch a 3-2 triumph over Belfast in KVAC softball action Monday afternoon.

Oak Hill (1-0) enjoyed a big first inning, with doubles from both Jill Lizotte and Emily Grondin, to lead off the scoring. Grondin had three hits and one RBI in the contest.

Belfast’s (0-1) Nicole Hubbard had two hits and one RBI to pace the Lions.
Cony 1, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON – With two outs, Devon Gaslin smacked a home run in the sixth inning for the game’s lone run as Cony edged Lewiston 1-0 Monday afternoon.

Cony’s (4-0) Amanda LaPointe struck out nine batters in a pitcher’s duel. Ashley Mason had two hits for the victory.

Lewiston (3-1) stranded runners on second base in the second, third, fifth and sixth innings. Amanda Michaud was the only Blue Devil repeat hitter, and recorded three strike outs on the mound for the effort.
Jay 7, Livermore Falls 1
LIVERMORE FALLS – Pitcher Bree Loon and catcher Sara Fetterhoff proved to be an unstoppable duo as they held complete control of the game, leading Jay to a 7-1 victory over Livermore Falls in softball action Monday.

Loon had a strong game on the mound, striking out 10 batters and walking none. Fetterhoff threw out three runners, with no passed balls behind the plate for the Tiger (1-0) win.

Danielle Gray and Sarah Hamilton each hit doubles for the Livermore Falls offense, with Gray’s hit in the first inning producing the lone run for the Andies (0-2).
