NORTH JAY – The United Methodist Thrift Store at Bartlett Memorial United Methodist Church Parish Hall is open for the season from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
A variety of clothes, toys, books and household items are available. The UM women’s group will have cheer baskets available now through May. Each theme basket holds several items to give to a new neighbor, shut-in, as a gift or just to say “I Love You.” Donations are welcome.
Two workshops
FARMINGTON – Upcountry Artists will hold two workshops on Saturday, May 1. Mardy Bogar will instruct in tile painting from 9 a.m. to noon at her home on Morrison Hill Road. Participants may paint six- or eight-inch tiles that can be used as trivets or framed as artwork.
Karen Campbell will instruct in wire sculpture from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Ricker Addition Building, UMF campus, Main Street. Each workshop is $15 for members and $30 for nonmembers.

MS Walk-A-Thon
JAY – A benefit supper was held April 3 at the St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The benefit raised a total of $653 and all of that money went to the society at the annual Walk-A-Thon on Sunday, April 18.
