TURNER – Laura Pratt doubled to right-center field in the bottom of the fifth inning, sending Sam St. Hilaire across the plate with the winning run as Leavitt handed Lewiston a 6-2 setback in KVAC softball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Hornets (4-1) erupted for three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the game out of reach. Lindsay Sierra added a double in the eight-hit outburst.

St. Hilaire took the mound honors, striking out seven while surrendering three hits as Leavitt cruised to its fourth victory.

The Blue Devils’ (3-2) Katie Morin took the loss, striking out four before giving way to Amanda Michaud in the seventh inning.
Oxford Hills 14, Morse 1
BATH – Bailey Holloway ripped four hits, including a home run to power Oxford Hills to a 14-1 thrashing of Morse in KVAC softball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Vikings erupted for seven runs in the top of the fourth inning and piled on five more in the fifth inning to secure the win.

Lauren Austin added three safeties, including a pair of home runs, while Jill Cole added a pair of hits in the 13-hit barrage.

Randi Arsenault tossed a complete game, striking out six.
Lisbon 12, Madison 0
LISBON – Jen Hogan batted and pitched Lisbon to a 12-0 shutout over MVC rival Madison in softball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (1-0) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after the second inning and were never challenged as Hogan kept the Bulldogs (0-1) hitless while she accounted for four RBI with a pair of safeties. Dominique Mathieu, Solleil Mathieu, and Crystall Doughty each added three hits in the shutout victory.
Lawrence 3, EL 2
FAIRFIELD – Lawrence outdistanced Edward Little in KVAC softball action Wednesday afternoon with a 3-2 win as the Bulldogs rapped out four hits.

Jen Verrill took the loss, going four innings before giving way to Brittany Short in the fifth inning.
Liv. Falls 9, Dirigo 7
DIXFIELD – Taryn Flagg ripped an RBI single in the seventh inning to lift Livermore Falls to a 9-7 victory over Dirigo in MVC softball action Wednesday.

Flagg went 3-for-5 at the plate, while Danielle Gray added two hits and two RBI. Gray also came on in relief of Christine Purrington in the sixth and picked up the win.

Kayliegh Daley led the Cougars’ (0-1) offensive effort with a 3-for-5 performance, including a solo home run in the fifth. Abby Fenstermacher went the distance on the mound, allowing nine hits while taking the loss.
Lacrosse

Gould 10, Hebron 9
BETHEL – Becky Caraboolad found the back of the net seven times to lead Gould Academy to a 10-9 overtime win over Hebron Academy in girl’s lacrosse action Wednesday.

Sarah Velte added two goals while Katie Reed rounded out the scoring in the victory.

Hebron was paced by Mattie Cambell with five goals and Taylor Fey who chipped in with a pair of goals.
