BRIDGTON – Bridgton Public Library announces the first of an ongoing series of art exhibitions in its newly refurbished meeting room. The public is invited to visit during regular library hours.
Organized in conjunction with Gallery 302 and the Bridgton Art Guild, the first exhibition features work by photographer Joe Beecher, fabric artist Cathy Grigsby and watercolorist Waldo Preble.
Bridgton Library and Gallery 302 are adjacent to each other across Main Street, the library’s exhibition being just a few steps from the gallery.
While public library service began in 1819 and Gallery 302 opened its doors 184 years later, the exhibition joins two of the town’s nonprofit institutions in making available the creative work of local artists, expanding their opportunities for presentation to the public.
The library will extend its hours into the evening, beginning May 5. Responding to a community survey, hours on Wednesdays will be from noon to 8 p.m.; Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
