Adds exhibits
WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Historical Society has added a number of exhibits to its museum recently.
Curator Larry Billings has decided to donate the large bust of Lincoln he previously put on loan for the society’s 25th year. The society has received a standing world globe, a cruifix, a large print of a European scene, a good-sized frame, a silver bowl, several bouquets of artificial flowers, a silver pitcher and the old Chamber of Commerce sign.
All will be on view Saturday afternoons this summer.
Job fair
BERLIN, N.H. – A job fair will be held at the N.H. Employment Security Office, 151 Pleasant St., from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 7.
The public is invited. Call 752-5500 for more information and ask for Diana.
Open house
FRYEBURG – The Fryeburg Historical Society announces two open house events.
Because of artifact donations and a steady increase in genealogical inquiriers, the society has had to create more “elbow room.” In doing so, members moved the Fryeburg Historical Society’s library and genealogical research material to Route 113 in North Fryeburg and have renovated and expanded the Fryeburg Historical Society’s Museum at 511 Main St.
An open house at the new library and research facility will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 8. Refreshments will be served.
An open house at the newly renovated museum will be held Memorial Day weekend, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at 511 Main St. Refreshments will be served.
