I’m writing this as a very concerned grandmother. A July 4 parade is scheduled in our nation’s capital where thousands and thousands of people will be contained in one area. I’m concerned about the threats being made against the United States. What better time, place and one of our most important holidays to attack.

I hope our officials in Washington think of that. I know that over 200 of Maine’s young people are going to participate in the parade; two of them are my grandchildren.

I don’t like raining on their parade, but I’m very worried over this.
