FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force offers the following programs and playgroups for the members of the community.

• Mondays: Joy of Parenting is a parent support group held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the task force office. Child care is provided free.

• Wednesdays: Young Hearts is a playgroup for young parents and parents of young children from 10 a.m. to noon at the Baptist Church in Livermore Falls. Childcare and snacks provided.

• Wednesdays: Parent education sessions held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Franklin Memorial Hospital. This seven-week class promotes parenting skills. There is a $30 fee and registration is required.

Evening hours

LIVERMORE FALLS – The Town Office will be open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28. Each month the office remains open one evening for residents to do regular business.

Lodge meeting

LIVERMORE – Charity Rebekah Lodge of Livermore Falls will meet Wednesday, April 28, at its hall, the Ralph Wright Memorial Building. Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 1:30 p.m. This will be Food Cupboard Day with Mother Hubbard, Hilda Corkum, in charge of the program. Members are reminded to bring items for the food cupboard. Perky Bangs and Roberta Moulton are in charge of refreshments.

The date of the official visitation of the assembly warden has been changed to May 12 and the date of the district meeting changed to May 22.

Sale set

PHILLIPS – The Shared Ministry Women are planning a jumble sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Phillips Community House. The sale will include household articles, new and used items and gifts. There will be no food or clothing.

Sale items sale may be left at the Community House from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday, April 29 and 30. Those who need items picked up may phone 639-2131. The sale benefits the Phillips Shared Ministry.

Quartet concert

WILTON – Transfixed, a quartet from New Brunswick Bible Institute, will be in concert at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, May 2, at the East Wilton Union Church. Calvin Hood, a teacher at the institute, will be the speaker. All are welcome. For more information, phone 645-4297.

Lawn sale

JAY – A lawn sale to benefit the American Cancer Society will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at the former Moosehorn Trading Post on Route 4 in North Jay. Organizers request no early birds. Seniors disband

WILTON – The Wilton Senior Citizens, organized in 1967, voted to disband the club due to aging and declining membership. The vote was unanimous.

The dispersal of the group’s assets met with unanimous votes.
