LEWISTON – Gary C. Bennett, 56, of Libby Avenue, Lewiston, died of lung problems Thursday, April 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Born in Woodsville, N.H., Aug. 23, 1947, he was employed as a professional painter, was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gertrude Bennett; one daughter, Tina Phelps of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Tammy Desmarais of Lewiston and Christine Peterson of Mechanic Falls; four grandchildren; one special granddaughter, Renee Desmarais; a special aunt, Minnie Boulet of Fitchburg, Mass.; and four brothers, Ernest and his wife, Debbie Bennett of Gardner, Mass., David and his wife, Sheila Bennett of Leominster, Mass., and Brad and his wife, Peggy Bennett of Ashburnham, Mass.; one sister, Sheila and her husband, Ray Ford of Fitchburg, Mass.; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Sheree Bennett; a brother, Ron Bennett; and his parents, Clarence and Marjory Corey Bennett.
