RUMFORD – A garage sale to benefit Parents and Teachers Helping Students will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in the garage and church hall at St. Athanasius and St. John School.

There will be toys, electronics, furniture, exercise equipment, books, children’s clothing, popcorn, hot dogs and a bake sale.

Blood drive

DIXFIELD – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at the Dirigo High School gym, 99 Weld St. To be eligible, donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health.

A person can give blood every eight weeks, or six times a year.

Class registration

DIXFIELD – Students at Dirigo High School will registering for school year 2004-2005 classes on Wednesday, May 5. There will be shortened periods that day.

Students are expected to attend school that day.

Seniors will be dismissed at 11:03 a.m. or after lunch at 11:25 a.m. Juniors will do their scheduling from 11:48 a.m. to 12:33 p.m. any may be dismissed at 12:33 p.m.

Sophomores will do their scheduling from 12:33 p.m. to 1:18 p.m. and may be dismissed at 1:18 p.m.

Any students needing to stay at school to take the bus home at 2:11 p.m. will be in the gym, library or computer lab.

ACS fund-raiser

DIXFIELD – A Pampered Chef Bingo will be held Sunday, May 16, at American Legion Post 100 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Doors open at 1 p.m.

Games begin at 2.

Tickets are available by contacting Kathy Walker by phone at 597-2560 or by e-mail at [email protected].

They cost $20 per person, which includes 20 games and two blackout games.

Extra tickets will be available. Prizes are Pampered Chef gift certificates.

Raffle tickets will be available and there will be food concessions.

Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
