WALES- Danny Sargent hit a triple and Emily Grondin walked to first, stole second and gave Sargent an opportunity to steal home to score the winning run as Oak Hill narrowly escaped with a 6-5 victory over Mt. View in a baseball game Wednesday.

Sargent also had seven strikeouts for the Raiders (3-1). Meghan Carmen had two Ks for the Mustangs (2-2) and Jessica Stevens had an RBI double.

Georges Valley 15, Winthrop 0

THOMASTON – Megan Watts struck out 11 batters in five innings as Georges Valley dominated Winthrop with 15-0 in MVC softball action Wednesday afternoon.

Georges Valley had 16 batters walk and the team stole six bases.

Raechel Strong, Lacey Stone, Thora Maltais, and Loralie Franklin each had RBI singles for the Buccaneers (3-0).

The Ramblers’ Megan Ginette broke up Watts’ would-be no-hitter in the top of the fifth inning with a single to record Winthrop’s (0-2) lone hit of the game.

Boothbay 16, Dirigo 11

BOOTHBAY HARBOR- Megan Closson had two hits, the lone repeat hitter for Boothbay as the Seahawks defeated Dirigo 16-11 in MVC softball action.

Jessica Blaisdell and Kayla Daley combined for five hits and four RBI for Dirigo.

Jessica Meader gave up 14 walks and hit two batters while on base for the Dirigo (0-4).

Medomak Valley 3, Lewiston 1

LEWISTON – Jamie McKellar smashed the winning hit for two RBI, pushing Medomak Valley to a 3-1 victory over Lewiston Wednesday afternoon.

Emily Havener (4-2) struck out 14 and pitched the entire game on behalf of the Panthers (4-2).

Amanda Michaud (4-2) had five strikeouts and Katie Morin slammed a triple for the Devils (4-3).

St. Dom’s 15, Freeport 0

FREEPORT – Emily Goss had a solid game on the mound and at the plate, striking out seven batters and going 2-for-4, to pace St. Dom’s to a 15-0 triumph over Freeport Wednesday afternoon. Goss hit a bases-loaded triple and recorded five RBI for the Saints (2-1).

Erica Dorso went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, while Sarah Caron hit a two-run triple for the victory. Casandra Dyer smacked a double for Freeport (0-4).

Telstar 9, Wiscasset 2

WISCASSET – Telstar’s Tiffany Jordan went 5-for-5 with two doubles as the Rebels pounded Wiscasset 9-2 in softball action Wednesday.

Nicole Tilas hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning for Wicasset (1-1). Kayla Mills had three RBI for Telstar (2-0).

Poland 9, Falmouth 6

FALMOUTH – Meghan Ford hit a triple and had three hits to lead Poland to a 9-6 victory over Falmouth in a softball game Wednesday.

Falmouth’s (0-3) Hannah Millick hit a three-run double in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings.

Kasey Darnell had two hits for Poland (5-2).

Lacrosse

Lewiston 17, Mountain Valley 8

RUMFORD – Lewiston went on a scoring spree as the Blue Devils marched to a 17-8 victory over Mountain Valley in girls’ lacrosse Wednesday. The Falcons’ (0-3) Jen Haman and Stephanie Dragoon combined for 16 saves in the net.

Gould 17, Kents Hill 8

KENTS HILL – Betsey Caraboolad netted eight goals to point Gould Academy to a 17-8 victory over Kents Hill in girls’ lacrosse Wednesday. Sarah Delte scored six goals while goalie Jen Gueyli made eight saves for Gould (3-4). Stephanie Tewksbury and Liz Mehr combined for five goals for Kents Hill.
