Two projects were approved and one was denied.

RANGELEY – The Rangeley Planning Board approved the two subdivisions and denied one Wednesday night.

Quimby Farm subdivision owners Scott Morton and Jamie Eastlack got the go-ahead to divide their property off Quimby Pond Road into 12 lots ranging in size from one to 2.5 acres each.

Randy Goodwin and David Rodway talked about the Village Woods subdivision off of Loon Lake Road and were granted final plan approval. They plan to create 11 lots of approximately 2.5 acres each from the parcel and maintain the home already on the property with six acres.

The board voted to deny the Swiss Colony subdivision project proposed by Phillip Perreault of Bel Air, Md. Perreault’s proposal would have resulted in a change in legal status of the property so that two of the three cabins on the 1.17-acre parcel could be sold.

The project was denied because the proposal doesn’t meet the town’s minimum lot size of 40,000 square feet per structure, or its cluster development requirements, and there are outstanding deed restrictions with the property’s right of way.

The next meeting of the board will be at 6:30 p.m. May 12 at the town office.
