LEWISTON – The Maine Music Society has been invited to perform at the governor’s reception for Maine’s Creative Economy Conference.

For this reception, at the Hilton Garden Inn, the Androscoggin Chorale will sing six a cappella songs, “Prayers from the Ark,” based on poems by Carmen Bernos de Gasztold and set to music by British composer, Ivor R. Davies.

Lee Griswold, a leading area businessman, a member of the chorale and a talented actor, will give a dramatic reading of the poems. Maine’s Creative Economy Conference May 6 and 7 at the Bates Mill Complex in Lewiston is expected to attract more than 600 attendees.

The Maine Music Society also will furnish a booth, which will be on display throughout the conference with information about their classical music concerts, educational activities and special events. For information about the Music Society, people can contact them at 782-1403 or go online at mms@gwi.net.
