PORTLAND – In honor of the Rock-Off’s 20th birthday, event producer Reindeer Records has created a sixth finalist slot after showcases held at McAuley Performing Arts Center.
All told, 27 Maine bands turned in a wide variety of live performances, from hard rock to pop-punk to alternative to solo acoustic acts, over two recent weekends.
The six acts chosen to proceed to the Rock-Off 20 Finals, in alphabetical order, are Carmine, Thornton Academy; Entropy, Falmouth High School; The Mojo Café, Mount Ararat High School; Pozer, Poland Regional High School; Sammie Francis, Gorham High School; and Stillview, Thornton Academy.
The finals will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 2, also at McAuley Performing Arts Center. Finalists will be evaluated by judges as well as audience balloting. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day of the show. They are available from any finalist; or at 878-4554 or [email protected].
