SALEM – Stephanie Hood doubled to lead off the fifth inning and later scored, and Sadie White followed three batters later with a two-run triple as Mt. Abram upended Lisbon 4-0 in MVC softball action Friday.
White finished with two hits and three RBIs for the Roadrunners (4-2), while Katie Walker pitched all six innings for the shutout.
Krystal Doughty picked up two hits for the Greyhounds (5-1) and also took the loss on the mound.
Telstar 3, Carabec 1
BETHEL – Jillian Kimball allowed one unearned run and struck out 14 batters to power Telstar to a 3-1 victory over Carabec.
Kristina Earl drove in Magen Marrill to give Carrabec (0-3) a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. Telster responded in the bottom half of the inning when Jessie Farrington doubled in Kayla Mills to tie the game at 1-1 and then Liz Rosenberg knocked in Farrington for the game-winning run for Telstar (3-0).
Geo. Valley 14, Liv. Falls 2
LIVERMORE FALLS – Rachel Campbell broke the game open in the seventh inning with a grand slam as Georges Valley cruised to a 14-2 win over Livermore Falls.
Juilette Loaka had three hits, including a double for the Buccaneers (4-0).
Junior Krista Allen performed well at the plate for the Andies (2-4), going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and scored a run.
Leavitt 8, Gardiner 0
TURNER – Sam St. Hilaire pitched a two-hit shutout to spark Leavitt to a 8-0 triumph over Gardiner.
St. Hilaire chipped in on offense with an RBI triple that scored Laura Pratt, who had two hits. Beth Burgess had three hits for Leavitt (7-2).
Lewiston 18, Mt. Ararat 1
TOPSHAM – Meagan Marcoux crushed the ball for three hits and tallied three RBIs as Lewiston strutted to an 18-1 win over Mt. Ararat.
Amanda Michaud had a superb outing on the mound, giving up only one run on five hits for the Blue Devils (5-4). Katie Morin lifted a home run, while Michaud helped her own cause with a pair of hits, including a triple.
Skowhegan 4, Oxf. Hills 0
SOUTH PARIS – Skowhegan snapped a scoreless deadlock when Whitney Fortier scored on a throwing error that led to four runs in the 12th inning as the Indians posted an exhaustive 4-0 win over Oxford Hills.
Fortier had three hits in the contest, while Val Decauche contributed a pair for the Indians. Third baseman Katie Budjinski had an outstanding game with 11 putouts for the Vikings (6-3) despite the loss.
Oak Hill 3, Erskine 1
SOUTH CHINA – Magan Blais plated an insurance run in the fourth inning as Oak Hill took a 3-1 win from Erskine Academy.
Ashley Malinowski drove in a pair of runs for the Raiders (4-1) in the second inning with a double. Julie Lizotte scattered four hits and allowed one hit for the win.
Amanda Fortin had two of the Eagles’ (2-2) six hits in the loss.
Madison 24, Dirigo 5
DIXFIELD – Rachel King had a pair of doubles as Madison kicked up dust in the sixth and seventh innings and sped off with a 24-5 win over Dirigo.
Michelle Holmquist had a 3-run blast in the third inning to assist the Cougars (0-5) to a 5-3 lead after three. Abby Fenstermacher was tiring in the sixth inning with 15 walks to her tally, when Kayliegh Daley came on in relief.
EL 10, Morse 1
BATH – Brittney Short went the distance, giving up one run and striking out six as Edward Little defeated Morse 10-1.
Kate Dargie and Kelly Constantine each had two hits and a double for Edward Little (2-5). Megan Ryan hit a double for Morse (1-6).
Jay 14, Hall-Dale 1
JAY – Bree Loon retired 15 of 18 outs with strikeouts as Jay overwhelmed Hall-Dale 14-1 in MVC softball action Friday.
The winless Bulldogs led 1-0 before the Tigers (4-0) unleashed their offensive attack with five runs in the third and three more in the fourth. Sara Fettehoff keyed the third-inning uprising with a two-run single.
Kaylee Demillo and Jana Fettehoff each had triples for Jay.
Lacrosse
Mtn. Valley 17, Lincoln 6
NEWCASTLE – Jessica Allen scored eight goals as Mountain Valley pummeled Lincoln Academy 17-6 in girls’ lacrosse action Friday.
The Falcons (2-3) jumped out to a 4-0 start before the Lincoln Academy responded with their first goal. Sam Johnson was the only other Falcon with multiple goals, recording six.
The Eagles (0-4) were led by Jess Hutchins with three goals and were out paced in shots on net 29-13.
