I take exception to Selectman Douglas Ludewig’s remarks in his letter to the editor (April 27). Twice he says Monmouth voters are uninformed about their decision to vote down huge spending on new police, fire and municipal buildings.
We are more informed than he may think. We know that Mainers’ wages adjusted for inflation are going down, not up. We know that our health insurance goes up as much as 20 percent a year. We know all this spending will make our property taxes go up. We know we live in a small rural town not a big city.
