DIXFIELD – Students at Dirigo High School will register for classes for the next school year on Wednesday, May 5. There will be shortened periods that day.
All students are expected to attend school that day, school officials said. Seniors will be dismissed at 11:03 a.m. or after lunch at 11:25 a.m. Juniors will do their scheduling from 11:48 a.m. to 12:33 p.m. and may be dismissed at 12:33 p.m. Sophomores will do their scheduling from 12:33 to 1:18 p.m. and may be dismissed at 1:18 p.m.
Any students needing to stay at school to take the bus home at 2:11 p.m. will be in the gym, library or computer lab. For further information, people can call Dirigo High School, 562-4251.
History program scheduled
FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley chapter of the Maine Genealogy Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Farmington Public Library. The program will feature “A Brief History of New Sharon.” Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.
Mail carriers food drive
FARMINGTON – The Farmington post office mail carriers are holding their 12th annual food drive on Saturday, May 8. Residents are being asked to leave nonperishable food items on, in or near their mailbox for the carrier to pick up. There will also be a food drop in the lobby of the post office from May 5 through May 8.May baskets
May baskets offered
JAY – Filled May baskets, whatnots and a food sale will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the North Jay Methodist Parish House. Doughnuts, coffee and lunch food will also be available. Residents also are welcome to visit the church’s Thrift Shop, now open 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday.
