AUBURN – Two more playoff games will be waged tonight in the Auburn Rec Women’s Slowdown Basketball League.

Rec-Ing Crew (1) will meet Palmer’s Insurance (2) in the winners’ bracket at 6:30 p.m. Old School (4) will clash with Young Ones (3) in the losers’ bracket at 7:45.

The loser of Crew-Palmer will take on the winner of Old School-Young Ones in the semifinal contest Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Championship round game is set for Sunday, May 9 at 6:30.

In earlier playoff action, Young Ones defeated Independent Women (6) 48-32 as Pauline Veinott collected 13 points and Elaine Keene 11. Ashley Golden led the Women with 16. Katie MacKenzie added 12.

Rec-Ing Crew beat Old School 54-44 as Anita Thomas tallied 10 and Michelle Rollins 8. Kristie Morin scored 17 for Old School. Betsy Pratt was next with 12.

Palmer’s Insurance knocked off Young Ones 45-34. Kathy Marston (9) and Dawn Gilbert (8) led Palmer. Missy Bilodeau and Nancy Fornier netted 6 each for Young Ones.

Old School rolled past Independent Women 52-32 as Morin popped in 18 and Katie Morrell 16. Golden tossed in 17 for the Women. Loretta Martin added 5.

Young Ones eliminated Shirl’s Girls (5) 55-40. Veinott (16) and Fornier (10) paced the winners. Shirl’s Girls were led by Sarah Shannon (13) and Karen Desjardins (12).
