PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will hold its annual meeting, luncheon and installation of new officers at noon Monday, May 10, at the First Congregational Church, South Paris.
The speaker will be Phyllis Cohn, associate director in charge of communication for AARP in Maine. Deadline for reservations is May 5. Contact Audrey at 743-1643 for information.
Regular AARP meetings will resume at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 14, at the VFW hall, East Main Street, South Paris. Anyone over age 50 is welcome.
The Oxford Hills AARP is participating in the second trip of the year on Tuesday, May 11, to the Mt. Washington Hotel for the grand buffet lunch. Due to so much interest, the group has reserved a larger coach and can accept a few more reservations.
The Thursday, June 24, trip to Rockland and Augusta for a Maine Museum Day is filling up fast as is the Moosehead Lake Cruise on Tuesday, Aug. 17.
Those who plan to go on the whale watch out of Rye, N.H., on Saturday, Sept. 11, should make reservations soon as they need a deposit at the beginning of July. There is an extra charge if a non-senior and less if a child.
On Wednesday, Oct. 6, there are a few seats left for the trip to the Balsams for the buffet lunch.
The Christmas trip to New York City will be Dec. 3 to 5 and the price per person includes the coach, downtown hotel, two dinners, two shows (including the Rockettes), two breakfasts, a Saturday morning bus tour of the city and free time to shop and visit museums. The deposit of $25 a person should be in by the end of May with the cost of show tickets due in mid-June. Final payment is due Sept. 25.
