DURHAM – The Ladies Guild will hold its ninth annual Afternoon Tea in support of the First Congregational Church, UCCC, of Durham, on Sunday, May 16, at the historic Bagley House Inn, Route 136.
Tea will be served at 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Featured will be English scones, assorted sandwiches, petits fours, golden nut cups, tea breads, other goodies and lots of tea. Some dress up and wear hats and gloves. Others come dressed casually.
The Bagley House is a restored 1773 country home, is Durham’s oldest house and is listed on the National Historical Register. One of the buildings is handicapped accessible.
Reservations need to be made by calling Betty Litchfield at 353-2642. Tickets are $8 in advance.
