NEW GLOUCESTER – Joe Billings pitched six innings of no-hit ball, striking out 13, as the White Sox defeated the Cardinals 4-2 in the Major Division of the New Gloucester Little League. Billings aided his cause with his sixth homer of the season.
John Howard cracked 2 hits, including a double, and scored twice. Adam Frey and Sean Mulrenin also had key RBI hits.
Trevor McCutcheon hurled a fine complete game for the Cards, fanning 11.
New Auburn
AUBURN – Heutz Oil and Cote’s played to a 4-4 tie in the Minor Division. Luis Jose Pernia-Rovayo’s triple in the first inning helped the Oilers take a 3-0 lead.
Second baseman Taylor Landry got all 3 outs in the last inning to preserve the tie for Heutz.
